(November 15, 2012)- Adelante Sciences Corporation President and CEO, Yvonne Vigue-Rodi, has written an article titled "Lunar Surface EVA Route Selection Optimization" for the September/October 2012 issue of Horizons newsletter, published by the Houston Section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. This article describes our process for surface path optimization using a Genetic Algorithm-based approach. A number examples are discussed illustrating both unconstrained and constrained optimizations. (December 16, 2011)- Adelante Sciences Corporation has received a Letter of Commendation from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Office of the Chief Technologist, for our recent proposal submitted to NASA's Small Business Innovative Research program. Adelante Sciences Corporation was responding to subtopic X2.01 Low Cost Heavy Lift Propulsion, under the X2 Propulsion topic, in the 2011 NASA SBIR solicitation. This topic is from NASA's Exploration Systems Mission Directorate, which develops capabilities and supporting research and technologies that will make sustained human and robotic exploration possible.
